Opportunities to Serve
Several opportunities exist to serve in our worship services. We invite the full participation of all! If you are already a member of a Worship Ministry and need to access the schedule, please visit our Worship Ministries Sign-up here.
Acolytes ages 8 to adult serve at the 10:30 Sunday service, leading the worship procession and assisting at the altar. We provide training for any interested youth and adults at least annually, and regular opportunities to gather with other acolytes and refresh our skills.
We hope that serving will inspire each acolyte to deepen their faith and relationship with God, to learn more about the worship service and the traditions of the church, and to become a leader in worship. We also hope that the acolyte family will provide a community of friends and peers in faith that can support each acolyte on their journey.
For more information on becoming an acolyte contact Bart Reilly.
Acolyte
Eucharistic Minister
St. George's encourages the participation of lay people as Eucharistic Ministers. Eucharistic Ministers are delegated to assist in the distribution of communion for which specific training and instruction are necessary. If you are interested in serving at the altar as a Eucharistic Minister, please contact Bart Reilly
Serving as a Greeter
Do you enjoy greeting new faces and ensuring everyone feels welcome? Greeting is for you! Greeters at St. George's help take care of essential tasks and offer assistance to individual members, enabling visitors and congregation members to better experience worship services. Be one of the first to greet newcomers and a welcoming resource for anyone who may need additional support. To learn more about becoming an usher at St George's, please contact Lil Samardzijia.
Lector
At St. George's, a lector is a member of the congregation who assists the minister in the worship service by reading the appointed lessons for the service. If you are interested in this important ministry, please contact Lyn Headley-Devours
Choir
Our music ministry serves as a radiant beacon of joy within our community. It warmly welcomes children (special times a year), youth, and adults alike, ranging from meticulously rehearsed ensembles to lively congregational singing. We aspire to uplift God’s name, cultivate our stewardship of the harmonious gifts bestowed upon us, and through this sacred endeavor, ignite a deeper faith in Christ and unveil glimpses of divine beauty for ourselves and others.
We invite you to join us in crafting enchanting melodies—whether by singing in one of our ensembles, attending our special musical gatherings, or, most importantly, lifting your voice in unison with us as we offer our heartfelt prayers and praises in worship.
